When you’re thinking about your future career, there is a lot to consider.

The most important thing is to do lots of research as that will help you to make an informed decision.

Your first steps should involve the flow chart below. Take a look at the end point and work backwards, as there are many different routes that you can take. It is also okay to change directions if you change your mind or find something that suits you more. It just means the journey takes longer, so try and think longer-term as soon as possible.

  • More specifically, those interested in a career in medicine can check out https://themedicportal.com which will help you get into medicine with free guides and expert prep for UKCAT, BMAT & interviews. The Medic Portal is also partnered with the Royal Society of Medicine.
